Webquests can be a valuable tool for independent research into a specific curriculum topic.

Plagiarism is a growing problem with the ease of cut and paste technology of computers. The following link is an interesting quest designed to educate students on what plagiarism is and how to avoid committing it. Click here to brows the site.

Classical civilizations have had a huge impact on the development our society. Though this quest is not as detailed in its process, it does provide some valuable links and a base for expansion. Click here to check out the quest.

Oral presentation is an important aspect of communication. Being able to read aloud with feeling and interpretation is vital to understanding how to make the written word effective. This could easily be adapted to the trial in the sequel to Roll of Thunder, Her My Cry. Check out this webquest for Reader’s Theatre by clicking here.

The media has a powerful influence in our culture today. Many believe it is eroding the qualities of good character and will ultimately destroy our society. This webquest helps students learn how the media manipulates us and perhaps resist the temptation to allow themselves to be so easily manipulated. Click here to check it out.

Emmett Till was the catalyst for the American Civil Rights movement. His story influenced Mildred Taylor, author of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. This webquest can easily be adapted to Florida Law and the cautions regarding the graphic and gruesome photos is good. Check out the quest by clicking here.

It is wonderful having so much hands-on practice for new technology. Being one who learns best by doing, it reinforces what is being taught so that I can then use it in class. The blogging exercises should prove useful for reading discussions and cut down on paper usage. Very environmentally friendly.

What sort of graphic can I find that ties in to the subject at hand?
